What we are, plainly
We are a party planning company, which makes us a client rather than a marketplace. We are hired by a family, we design the party, and then we book the people who deliver it. When we book you, you are working to a brief and a schedule we have already agreed with the client.
That is a different relationship from a directory listing or a lead service. You are not bidding against four other vendors for the same enquiry, and you are not paying for the privilege of being contacted. You are being booked.
- No listing fee. Being considered and being booked both cost you nothing.
- No bidding. When we come to you it is because we want to book you for a specific party.
- A real brief. Written details, a schedule and a named contact, every time.
- Someone on site. A planner runs the day, so you are not also managing the timeline.
- Not exclusive. Work with anyone else you like. We are asking to be a good client.
The process
How it goes from here
-
1
Tell us about your business
What you do, where you cover, and how you like to work. A few minutes is enough.
-
2
We review it properly
A person reads it. We look at your work, your coverage and how you present your terms.
-
3
A real conversation
If there is a fit, we talk — about pricing, availability, how you want to be briefed and how you want to be paid.
-
4
Into the rotation
You go on the list we book from. When a party needs what you do, in an area you cover, we come to you.
What we look for
The things that decide it
In roughly this order. Talent matters, but it is not the first thing on the list.
Reliability
You arrive in the window you were given, set up in the time you said, and do what was agreed. This is the whole ball game.
Insurance and paperwork
Current business insurance and written terms. Many venues require certificates and we handle that paperwork with you.
Communication
You answer your phone in the week of a party, and you tell us early when something changes.
The work itself
Good at what you do, and honest about what you are not good at. We would rather be told an act is wrong for an age group.
Good with children
Specifically with the age group you claim. A performer who reads a room is worth more than one with a better website.
Clear pricing
A rate card we can quote from, including travel, setup and overtime. Vagueness on price costs us both time.
Our side of it
What you get from us
- A written brief. Event details, guest count, ages, venue, access, and what we need from you — before the day, not on it.
- A run-of-show. You know exactly when you are on, what is before you and what is after.
- Realistic timings. We build in setup and load-out rather than assuming you materialise.
- Someone on site. A named planner running the day, so client questions come to us instead of interrupting you.
- Agreed payment terms. Set out in writing at the start, and not contingent on when the client pays us.
- Honest feedback. If something did not work, you will hear it from us directly rather than reading it somewhere.
A note on what we are not
We are not a lead-generation service and we do not sell contact details. If you are looking for a stream of enquiries to bid on, this is not that. We book a smaller number of vendors and go back to them.
Apply
Tell us about your business
A person reads every one of these. If there is a fit we will get in touch; if there is not, we will say so rather than leave you waiting.
Questions
Vendor questions
What kind of vendors do you work with?
We work with the people who deliver the parties we plan: entertainers and performers, decorators and balloon artists, caterers and bakers, venues and play spaces, photographers, and rental companies covering inflatables, furniture and shelter. We work across San Francisco, East Bay, Peninsula, South Bay, North Bay.
How does the working relationship actually work?
We plan and manage the party; you deliver your part of it. We brief you properly in advance, give you a written schedule, confirm the details before the day and have someone on site to run the timing. You invoice us or the client according to what we agree at the outset.
Do I pay to be on your list?
No. Being considered costs nothing. We add vendors because we want to book them, not because they have paid to be findable.
What do you look for?
Reliability first: you turn up when you said, set up in the window you were given, and do what was agreed. After that, proper insurance, clear written terms, and being straightforward to communicate with. Talent matters, but talent that cannot be relied on is not useful to us.
What do you expect on the day?
Arrival inside the agreed window, your own equipment and setup, work to the run-of-show we share with you, and a direct line to our on-site planner if anything changes. We will do the same for you: accurate briefs, realistic timings and no surprises.
Are you exclusive? Can I still work with other planners?
Not exclusive. Work with whoever you like. We are asking to be a good client, not the only one.
How do payments work?
Agreed in writing before the first booking — whether you invoice us or the client, the terms, and the timeline. We will not ask you to wait on payment because a client is slow to pay us.
What happens after I get in touch?
We read every application ourselves. If there is a fit we will get in touch to talk properly — what you do, where you cover, how you price and how you like to work. If there is not a fit right now we will tell you that plainly rather than leaving you waiting.
