Party photography, handled properly

Photographing a kids' party is a specific skill. The subjects do not hold still, the light is whatever the room happens to have, and the moments worth keeping last about two seconds. We book photographers who do this regularly, and we build the shot list into the schedule.

Everything below is included when you book party photography with us, whether it is the only thing you hand over or part of full party planning.

  • Photographer matching Matched on style — documentary, bright and posed, or a mix — and on experience with your age group.
  • Shot list The family groupings and set pieces you actually want, agreed before the day.
  • Schedule integration Cake, candles and the entertainment finale are flagged so nothing important happens while the camera is down.
  • Video options Short highlight films where you want them.
  • Delivery Turnaround and delivery format agreed up front and chased by us.

Questions

Photography: what families ask

How long should we book a photographer for?

Most parties are well covered in two hours, timed to start shortly before guests arrive so you get setup and decor shots before the room fills up.

Can we use the photos however we like?

Usage is set by each photographer's contract. We read it, summarise the terms for you in plain language before you sign, and negotiate where the default does not suit you.

How far in advance should we book?

Six to eight weeks gives us room to secure the venue and the vendors you actually want. Peak weekends — spring, early summer and December — go earlier. We do take shorter-notice parties when our calendar allows, so it is always worth asking.
